re: judith miller pt 2

I've been writing to the nyt complaining about judith miller for over a year.
I posted their previous response in an earlier diary; here are two new exchanges.

n69n: FIRE JUDITH MILLER, LOUDLY & IN PUBLIC!

Dear n69n,

If you have an issue with Times coverage please send us an e-mail citing a specific article and we will look into it.

Sincerely,
Arthur Bovino
Office of the Public Editor
The New York Times

n69n: how about the fact that Ahmed Chalabi and Judith Miller USED your paper to feed us propaganda that she had PERSONALLY SEEN Weapons of Mass Destruction (not Weapons of Mass Destruction Programs OR Weapons of Mass Destruction Program Related Activities)

Jufith Miller TOLD US THEY WERE THERE.

 so where are they, Judy?

Dear n69n,

Thank you for your message.

Given the volume of reader comment; given the need to start with a clean slate; and given the difficulty of evaluating the paper's past deeds and alleged misdeeds, Dan Okrent has decided as a matter of policy not to address issues that arose before his tenure began, except insofar as they relate to the paper's actions from December 1 forward. I am sure you will understand that, were we to do this any other fashion, we would disappear into an endless tunnel.

I do not mean to suggest in any way that I am not interested in your concerns about the paper.

If you see specific instances that concern you in the future please send me a message citing examples.

Sincerely,
Arthur Bovino
Office of the Public Editor

I do not mean to suggest in any way that I am not interested in your concerns about the paper.

And how else could you read these messages?

    For God's sake!

Good God, what an insulting load of garbage.  "Because we published a lot of ridiculous stuff that was made up and fired the writer who produced it and the guy who was responsible for promoting him, we've decided that all the other much more scandalous, bogus stories regarding Chinese spies at nuclear labs who weren't really spies, Presidential scandals that weren't, and sightings of WMDs that didn't exist can be forgotten about, and the people who wrote about them can go on filling the paper with their flights of fancy, and we don't care if you don't like it, because we're the motherf***ing New York Times."

    Arthur,

No need to apologize to n69n, I'm sure he understands how busy you are.  Although the parents, brothers and sisters of these folks might want a little bit more of an explanation about why your paper participated in this criminal fraud of a war.

Hey, don't worry about it though.  I'm sure your probably too busy to worry about this.
